From a pricing standpoint—which I’m involved with quite a bit—it’s now a centralized process. Everyone plays a part. If we can’t handle something directly from a plant, the supply chain team steps in. We’re always looking for the best solution for the customer.

Many of us have held different roles throughout our careers with 48forty, and that brings a wide range of knowledge and experience to the table. At the end of the day, it’s all about bringing the best solution, the best available price, and all the other services we provide to the customer.

What Does Ongoing Support from 48forty Look Like Beyond Onboarding?

Part of our onboarding process is account management—both from the national level and the local level. Before implementation, we assign what we call a national account manager who works directly with the business development team. They get involved early to understand locations, pricing, and more.

Once we go through implementation and onboarding, that national account manager gets more involved in the day-to-day administrative side—making sure invoices are done properly and so on.

The big thing they lead is what we call a QBR—Quarterly Business Review. The more we meet with the customer, review locations, volumes, and address concerns, the better. We also provide market updates—what’s going on in the pallet world, pricing trends, and other key insights. That’s what the next phase looks like for the customer.
