01/04/2022 Announcement: The Centers for Disease Control (“CDC”) has shortened the recommended time for isolation, and as a result, the Company has modified its COVID Prevention Plan, which will be distributed to key personnel shortly. The CDC recommends that people with COVID-19 isolate for 5 days if they are asymptomatic or their symptoms are resolving (without fever for 24 hours), followed by a 5-day period of wearing a mask when around others, including while at work, to minimize the risk of infecting people they encounter.

In compliance with the updated CDC Guidance, the Company’s revised COVID Prevention Plan establishes a recommended quarantine period for employees who are exposed to COVID-19 (defined as being in close contact (less than 6 feet) with a COVID-positive individual for at least 15 minutes over a 24-hour period). For people who are unvaccinated or are more than six months out from their second dose (or more than 2 months after the J&J vaccine) and not yet boosted, CDC now recommends quarantine for 5 days followed by strict mask use for an additional 5 days. Alternatively, if a 5-day quarantine is not feasible, it is imperative that an exposed person wear a well-fitting mask at all times when around others for 10 days after exposure. Individuals who have received their booster shot do not need to quarantine following an exposure but should wear a mask for 10 days after the exposure. For all those exposed, best practice would also include a test for SARS-CoV-2 at day 5 after exposure.

It is important to note, the latest guidance and revised policy doesn't require testing in order to return to work. If you should have any questions regarding this update, please contact the COVID Response Team at CRT@48forty.com.
